I took my VW combi in for a service at Lindsay Saker Edenvale as I do for the past few years. Warning lights were flashing on the dash board to confirm my combi needs a service as well as the steering wheel would not turn. I was told by Richard that we need a steering pump and gave us a quote on the steering pump as well as the service. I waited a week only to call myself to find out what the delay is. Richard informed me that its not the steering pump that needs to be replaced but the steering rack. I initially complained about this misdiagnoses only to fall on deaf ears as the explanation was that they could only know if the steering rack needs to be replaced oncea new steering pump was installed. So this morning Saturday 25 January 2014 i collected my combi, paid R13000 for a combi with no steering rack. I drove the combi off the premises only to find all the warning lights flashing (same as on booking it in for the service). So my question is: how is it possible for a car that had a thorough service to still have flashing warning lights on the dash? Ive been a loyal customer for the past how many years and the service is shocking. Im now back at VW.. to complain
