Wanted to do unnecessary work

Goch and Cooper noticed that my steering boots were worn, which was true. But they said my whole steering rack therefore had to be replaced at R4000. I kept asking them why the whole rack had to be replaced just for the boots, but they stuck with the story and could not give any explanation.

I then took it to somebody else who said the steering rack is fine. He replaced the boots for me, plus took it for wheel alignment, for R800 in total. It's still working fine.
