A Macsteel truck knocked into my parked car on 28 Nov, tried driving off, but neighbors stopped him & took details. Can't drive my car, R7, 500 damage. Opened case at police station & phoned Macsteel 29 Oct, spoke to Greg & told me what docs I need to send through which I did. No response to email. Phoned 1st Nov to find out what's happening, left msg, pls get back to me asap, no response. Emailed again, no response from Greg. Phoned 4 Nov, not in, left urgent msg to get back to me, no response. Got hold of GM William Parkin who put me in on to Allister, told me I needed affidavit to say I wouldn't use my insurance but Macsteel's insurance. Emailed that off, heard nothing. Emailed again, nothing. So phoned today, 8 Nov, 10 days after accident, to speak to Allister. Told him I am frustrated as I don't have a car & costing me in taxis & no one seems interested in getting back to me. I was told I have attitude problem, I should learn to be more patient, it's my fault for signing affidavit & I should have claimed from my insurance. When I said that that would cost me R1000 excess he responded -Not my problem. Then said that I would have to seek legal advice, his response -Go for it."
