Chronic cover benefit is a joke

I have been a Discovery member for about 15 years, and have made very few claims over that period for my family.
This is the first time I thought I would take advantage of the chronic illness cover benefit for blood pressure medication... thinking it might be worthwhile.
However, looking at Discovery's response to my application it isn't even worth the paper it is written on.
I was under the naive impression that the chronic illness benefit had some substance to it, but was shocked to see their response to my application where they offered me a rather pathetic R20 per month cover for a medication that is widely used for blood pressure control and which costs about R155 per month.
I looked at this paltry offer and decided very quickly that I would rather pay the the R20/month extra and stick with my preferred pharmacy down the road from my home, and avoid the admin hassle just for the sake of R20 cover. Thoroughly disappointed!!!
