My financial adviser who represents Discovery Health advised us that my wife's hyperprolactinaemia (pituitary gland) would be covered on CHRONIC like it was with Resolution Health for 4 years. The only caveat was the three month waiting period as new members.
Our specialist Dr Joel Dave re-submitted the application forms and we just heard this is not covered under chronic but will deplete our MSA. At R1400 per month it's decimating it!
Discovery needs to train it's advisers who wish to sign up medical aid properly and amend their policy. This was a NON-NEGOTIABLE element when we decided to move from Reso Health to Discovery. Is it tthat he specific medication isn't not covered or is it the actual chronic growth / ailment?
This is misrepresentation of the highest order and now my family is picking up the pieces of inept advice. What now??? Who is going to fix this -up? I would NEVER have moved had I not been assured Discovery would continue with the chronic benefit.
