Last year I had a cubital tunnel release done at the Rosebank Clinic by Dr. Carides. When I originally sent the forms through for the pre approval, I clearly stated the amounts charged by the doctor. I received a mere approved letter - not advising which portion of the total amount is approved. After numerous correspondence there was only excuses and no real explanation as to why only certain amounts were paid, even after the fact that they confirm they pay 125% and the doctor charged 200% - bottom line, the payment did not equal 125%. I now have to go for the same operation in my other arm and have requested that they confirm what amount will be paid towards the operation, prior to my admission. I have sent around 15 email requests to correct data, confirm the required detail but again, no responses. This must be by far my worst experience ever. For almost R4000.00 a month, you would expect a decent service provider. They are NOT FICA compliant by deferring the fact that they do not want to confirm portions payable and their members must just accept whatever they decide on? The worst part is that banking staff are forced to belong to Bankmed.
