Liberty Medical Scheme
UNPAID BILLS FOR PMB CONDITION

I received an account from SANBS for the 30/11/2013. My mother is in end stage renal failure received a transfusion in the dialysis unit. She has had transfusions before when her HB was too low. The account is still unpaid as the medical aid says that there was no authorisation found. I have never obtained an auth for these before. NRC says that they do not obtain auths and SANBS says that they will give blood despite not having an auth as it may be an emergency. I understand that an auth should have been obtained, but it is NOT entirely my fault for not getting one. Now I have a bill of over R5000 which I cannot afford to pay. I have tried contacting Liberty Health, but the case manager is apparently on leave (ref no: 34732433) and will only return on Monday. I emailed them as asked to, but no response as yet. I asked to be called back, but was told today that this cannot be promised. I'm unable to call back from work on Monday as we are not allowed personal calls. There's also unpaid accounts to the DR, IP Naiker, SAYING " NO AUTHORISATION FOUND".
Earlier this year a motivation letter was faxed through to them by the Dr's PRACTICE as they refused to pay for dialysis. Pls help!
