On 24 January I had a small procedure done at Morningside Clinic. I was told there is a co-payment of R2850 on the hospital bill, which I paid by credit card. Subsequently, discovery re-imbursed the hospital for the entire medical claim. When I queried this at the hospital on or about 5 February, I was told the co-payment would be re-imbursed within 18 Days by Head-office, who handles re-imbursements. When I still have not received any re-imbursement by 18 March, I queried at the hospital again. They said that they have had a huge backlog of payments for similar issues and couldn't tell me when I would get re-imbursed. They suggested I claim the money from my medical aid, who will then reverse a part of the payment to the hospital. This is terrible customer service. It is not acceptable. I want my re-imbursement immediately.
