Claim rejected for co-payment on MRI scan

I am with Stratum benefits. as er my medical aid there is a R 1500 co-payment for a MRI scan. My son was hospitalised in February 2021 and had to have a MRI scan. As i still did have medical savings at that stage the co-payment was done out of my medical savings which after the hospital episode I do not have any of left. benefits rejected my claim because it was paid out of my medical savings. Why do you take Gap cover then? to cover you for short payments by your fund. I am paying all out of my pocket which would not have been if if the co-payment for the MRI scan was not taken from my medical savings
