I am sick and tired of this medical aid from Discovery health, Hyperthyroid/Hypothyroid are PMB benefits according to most medical aids accept Discovery. My wife is paying /-R2000pm as a premium but we can not use this medical aid because our savings are depleted. The problem is she was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism in March and she went for nuclear medical treatment which depleted the savings of R5000. We aplied for chronic cover but was told that it will be covered under PMB and all the previous claims will be backpaid and the money put back into our saving but that has not happened. We are getting calls from the Dr's that we need to pay and this amounts to plus R13000. We do not have that kind of money and want discovery to explain the way forward and why they are not helping us! They need to look at other services providers like Liberty Life and notice that not everything is paid from the savings of a client in most cases the only thing they pay from savings is just medication. May somebody at discovery who is able to answer my questions contact me because the products at discovery seem to confuse even their staff members who call the clients.
