I contribute every month to this medical scheme. I have a savings balance that I can use for valid medical expenses. I went for an expensive X-Ray, and asked my medical aid to pay for it out of my savings. They declined, so I paid for it myself. I then submitted my claim a few months later and they again refused to pay out my savings (note - my savings, not theirs) for this expense, stating that I have to submit claims within 120 days. What a joke. Maybe they just dont have the money to pay out R6, 000?
