Failure to timeously authorise scan

It's unfair how we pay medical aid premiums all our lives and never use our benefits and then suddenly when we get old, benefits and medical treatment is delayed due to medical aids inefficiency.

My 76 year old Grandmother has been waiting for authorization for an MRI scan for 3 days. She is in ICU and desperately in need of the scan in order for doctors to continue with her treatment.discovery health promises patients assistance in times of need but can't authorize a simple scan even with the doctors motivation.

I hope discovery can sort this out ASAP. In addition I will make sure that I communicate to all young people to downgrade their medical aids and upgrade later in life when they older as young people are meant to subsidies the old and that is clearly not happening. Also will be buying discovery shares with my premium savings as this will be a better long term investment.
