On 27/02/2013 I was admitted into a network hospital emergency suspecting meningitis.
I was admitted and they had to do a CT scan which Momentum didnt pay. I received a bill from the radiologist for R4323.23 for a CT scan. It indicated I was not covered.
I was advised that MRI and CT scans are subject to prescribed minimum benefits. Not even a call center agent could explain this. I requested a list of these benefits but could not be provided with one.
How are we as paying clients for medical aid to know what we are covered for or not?
As an emergency life threatening condition the doctors and nurses don't have time to tell patients they not covered and how much it would cost.
In this day and age when you take medical aid and they advise you that you are covered 100% for in hospital you take it that once you have an admission reference number that there will be no surprises after you have survived your medical ordeal.
I want answers and I want someone that knows the Momentum Health Ingwe option to call me back.
I have 4 kids and should something happen to them and they need medical attention I will have to stress about them and also how much it would cost me an
