Gym Membership Benefit Cancelled

I was notified on 17 December 2013 by Discovery Vitality that my Virgin Active benefit had ended because I did not make the minimum number of visits for the 12-month period between 01/12/2012 and 30/11/2013.
An email was sent to me on 14 November 2013 informing me that I had to visit the gym on two more occasions so as not to loose the gym benefit. I made sure that I visited the gym twice in November so as not to loose the benefit. When I queried the cancellation, I was informed that I misunderstood the email (which I admit to). I did not take into account that the visit to the gym on the 2 November was already factored in and therefore I had to visit the gym three times and not twice.
I've tried on several occasions (with Discovery Vitality) to have their decision reversed, but to no avail. I have been a loyal client of theirs for many years, 15, always managed to keep up my required gym visits and now missed my "12 month average" by only one visit. However, one mistake/misunderstanding from my side and none of this is taken into account.
