I had Discovery Insurance for some time now and in general they do cover you as insurance is suppose to do. I recently however found out that I have to have Cataract surgery done on both my eyes. Because of my young age the Doctor informed me to rather go with the Toric lenses. I know I would have to cover cost because of this and do not have a problem with this. The problem I do have is that Discovery only covers 50% even of the normal lenses... That is like having a car maintenance plan and when you engine has to be replaced the plan saying that they will pay for the mechanics to replace the engine but will only pay for 50% of the engine.
So, be aware of what Discovery say they pay as they do not give you a list of the medical equipment you might need and the percentage their panel decides to pay for (panel that decide what is the least Discovery can get away with paying seems like). At least the Doctors are covered by 200%, not the person with insurance.
All this on the second most expensive plan they offer.
