So yesterday my Doctor tells me that we have to operate on my ear, I'm at the right hospital for the medical aid plan that I am on and the Doctor is an authorized Discovery Doctor. Phone to get my Authorization number and Simon from the discovery call center tells me that my Doctor is not a contracted doctor. So this morning I phone my Doctor and his receptionist tells me that he is a Classic Direct doctor with Discovery. mmmmm, I am on an Essential Delta Saver medical Plan (whoops so I also don't qualify for the WW benefit even though we all pay the same Vitality fee - but that's a different disgust i feel towards Discovery) So I phone Discovery Call Center again and Yes they tell me the full doctor fee won't be covered because the Doctor is a Classic Direct doctor, so I ask her for a list of names of Doctors who then do service us "lower class" people who don't have Classic or executive plans, There aren't any!!! so the onus rests on you as the customer to go beg the doctor to please charge the lesser fee for you even though you pay your medical aid every month - Discovery is happy to take my money but won't give me the proper service or help that I need. I am Disgusted!
