I have recently taken out Medical Aid with Discovery and I was under the impression that I had cover with certain Doctors that were on their list of approved health professionals. After going to the doctor for a few tests I found out very quickly that I was merely on a hospital plan for R900 a month. I then called to ask if I could upgrade my plan as I didnt want a hospital plan I wanted more cover for daily docors visits and I was told I couldnt upgrade again until December. I am utterly shoked by this as no other company works like this and I am wanting to pay more for more cover yet they wont allow me. I then get a phone call telling me they WILL start billing me for Vitality benefits from 1st March. I thought this was very cheeky as I didnt want Vitality and they didnt even ask me they basically told me I would be paying extra. I am so dissapointed with Discovery and I am thinking about cancelling my Medical aid with them as they have caused me nothing but grief.
