I joined Bonitas medical scheme in March 2013 after being with WCMASS for many years due to change of workplace. My monthly payment at Bonitas increased by R4, 213 per month compared to WCMASS. I experienced now numerous problems since joining Bonita's. Bonitas has a system in place where you receive a 40% penalty if you do not use pharmacy direct, BUT pharmacy direct has been busy with my prescription from the 23 Dec 2013 up to now dated the 16 Jan 2014; still waiting. How can you wait a month for your medication? Bonitas also refuses to use my saving account to pay for the chronic medication that was not approved by them. You must pay it extra; it is like they do not recognize your chronic condition at all. I had to pay R28, 000 extra only on these chronic medication for the year 2013 and the yearly extra payment of (R4, 213 monthly) R50556 more then when I was with WCSM.
