I see that there is a huge trend for Lancet to hand over accounts to debt collection with not even statements being sent to the person, or any contact about unpaid accounts to the person. Not only is is this illegal, but to me immoral as well.
Personally - I received an sms last week telling me my account has been handed to debt collection. This was the first I heard about it. Upon calling Discovery, the account was reprocessed and PAID already. They have also contacted Lancet Accounts Dept on my request and supposedly cleared the issue. I received another sms this morning DEMANDING immediate payment "or else".
For a client to be threatened with ITC blacklisting, over an already paid account, this is unacceptable. I need this issue resolved - all legal fees due to Lancet's incompetancy on wrongly sending this to debt collection reversed off my account, ITC issue cleared (if I have a negative effect on my credit rating, I will persue legal action against Lancet), and written confirmation that all outstanding accounts are paid.
Eagerly awaiting a proper (not cut-and-paste) response to my issue.
