I arrived late on Wednesday evening about 9pm after having had a long drive from Grahamstown. When checking in no one arrived to help me with my luggage, despite watching me pull my own suitcase from my vehicle! Poor start... The receptionist asked if I would be having dinner to which I replied no I would have room service. After ordering a salad and some wine I received a call saying I was not authorised to book the bill on my account as I had a pre-paid travel agent voucher so had not pre-swiped my credit card? Reception insisted that I either pay cash or swipe my card and called back at least 3 times insisting that I do so that evening. So much for a relaxing stay! Why was this not done on check-in and why could they not have waited until I checked out to settle my bill? For a measly R130 you ruined my stay and will probably ensure I do not stay in your hotel again when on Business in East London.
