My doctor has been trying to book into hospital for a procedure. The first one was for Barium Anema and the medical aid said they do not cover the procedure soa my doctor decided to change. Last week monday the 23rd I tried to get an auth number for another procedure but they told me the codes were incorrect & they also need a letter from the doctor but to my suprise I recieved an email from the medical aid on friday the 27th stating that the procedure has been approved. I then called the doctors rooms and the doctor said I can come in this morning. When I called the medical aid I was told that someone incorrectly approved the procedure. I feel I have been inconvinience by their incompetence & they say they want more info from the doctor & how can the doctor give them any info when they don't want to cover anything.
I thought joining the medical aid would make my life easier but it causes me more health problems. It's quicker for Discover to debit money from my account monthly but it's slower to approve any procedure.
