On the 11/07/2012, I went for a surgical procedure to have a swollen/infected gland removed from my arm (Day surgery). This was the first time I went to the doctor all year, non of my family members has used the hospitalisation plan for years, and the medical aid receives in access of R6 000 a month. Authorization was obtained for the procedure. Prosano gave the go ahead, and the doctor even put me in the hospital so that the hospital plan of the medical aid would kick in. At present no payment for the procedure, or the surgeon has been honoured. Their response was, we've run out of benefits, SERIOUSLY, not anyone of us having been hospitalised for that particular.
The dilemma is the prosano has now merged with bonitas medical scheme. We are now receiving final demands for payment of the procedure, the surgeon and anaesthetist. We have now changed medical aid and not with Prosano anymore. The procedure was done while we bona fide members of the scheme.
