I was a member of my local virgin active gym in Durban for many years. I had a bout of illness which prevented me from training for a few months. I received a notification that if i did not visit the gym a certain number of times before a certain date my subs would go from 10% to 40%..so i made a note to visit the gym "x" number of times before May this year. I marked each trip on my calendar and definately did "x" trips before the cutoff date. A week later im told that i didnt go the required amount of times!! So now id go from 10% to 40% gym subs. In frustration i cancelled and am very disappointed that there was some communication breakdown between the gym and vitality as to how many times i had to visit the gym. Has anyone else had this problem? i think its unacceptable.
Now if i want to rejoin its a joining charge again of - R1000... totally rediculous..i have been a paying medical aid & vitality member for ten years and this is how im treated, when it wasnt even my miscalculation..disappointed
Follow up: Posted the above on their facebook page. Was told they were investigating. Posted a week later again told was investigating. Today is 10 days after i lodged the initial complain.
