Disatisfaction of quality, or lack thereof

The experience I had at The Capetonian Restaurant last night was bitterly disappointing. First of all, the menu which was emailed to me on booking our reservation was not lived up to. We were advised that we would receive falooda on arrival, as well as having a selection of either samoosas/spring rolls/dhaltjies as well as dates/savoury mince pies at our table, of which we only received dates. One would expect that at the very least a jug of water would be on the table as we would have liked to break our fast with a glass of water. It was also advised that a display of naan bread would be served hot to our table, which eventually it was, only after asking for it on numerous occasions. The rest of the menu was all there as promised, but the quality was not. One would also expect that a restaurant would serve restaurant quality. During dessert my husband also found a piece of plastic in his bread pudding, which I brought to the attention of the manager, who eventually addressed the matter almost 20 minutes later. We were refunded my husbands meal. Having worked in the hospitality industry I know what to expect from a "four star" hotel, I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone!
