My husband was admitted to hospital after going to casualties during the morning hours of the 15th of April 2013. Today the 16th the hospital gave him a quote of R35 000 because momentum did not want to give authorization for his admission due the fact that were not 12month on the medical aid. So let's think about this why is this issue now, why not asked these question, request these documents when applying? He needed the operation urgently but this is being delayed by the medical aid. After sending through all the documentations that they needed, they still could not manage to find anything. Only after talking to a supervisor we managed to get some answers. So this has caused us now stress, delayed the operation and in the end costing momentum more money that it should have if their staff where more sufficient. Momentum never informed us as members that there were issues; they did not tell us that they needed the extra documentation. Only after being presented with a quote of R35 000 we had to phone and ask why and run around to get everything together. This is truly the worst service ever, seriously would not recommend momentum health to others.
