Please refer to my previous complaint on how discovery cancelled my gym membership on hellopeter because I missed 1 visit in March due to having a baby and was unable to go to gym after medical procedure

Discovery advised that their system does not allow them to reverse the cancellation and they do not re-instate it for any reason. However in yesterday's Sunday times paper under consumer reports, a man who could not attend gym due to treatment for cancer also had his gym membership cancelled after failing to meet required number of visits. He did not attend for 6 months while I missed only 1 visit. I do not want to compare who's condition was worse but both were medical related. However when he took it up with Discovery they re-instated it.
Why the double standards as I could also not go anywhere, leave alone gym, after my operation due to pain. I was only given the option of re-joining at a cost. Discovery also advised in the article that issues like this should be escalated to team leaders but mine was not.
Discovery - please advise why my case is any different?
