I had bloods done while in hospital in September 2012 with Ampath labs. My Dr ordered a whole series of tests. A month after I was discharged I received a letter from the lab accounts department to say my tests amounted to R5200 of which medical aid hasn't paid R1600. I sent an email to Tamara Karelse enquiring about this but her response was that I need to settle this as my medical aid hasn't paid it. They were not prepared to help me with this. I fought with medical aid since then daily regarding this account and had to send them a letter from the Dr ect which I did. The account was finally paid in April 2013 an amount of R1404. On the 3rd May I called Pretoria and spoke to a Jackie and told her this she said they were not aware and I should send her my statement which reflects the payment which I did. I asked her if I owe them anything else as my intial balance was R1600 and she told me I don't owe anything else. I even asked her if there was any hand over process done and she said there was nothing. Last week I get an sms from Lexmed to say Ampath has handed me over as I owe them R140. When I called Ampath they insist I pay this amount. How can they hand me over for R140???
