After months of battling with Discovery to admit that the HbA1C test is an acceptable test for the diagnosis of diabetes, (and far better than a random glucose test), they finally admitted it, and allocated my Vitality points. I then asked for confirmation that they have updated their archaic systems to reflect this test as being an acceptable diabetes diagnostic tool (in line with international standards), but have not had an answer. Almost every one of the umpteen times that I have corresponded with Discovery Vitality on this matter, I have had to re-send my emails to try to get a response. Each time there has been a response, it has been vague or repetetive, and very much like Discovery Health, Vitality does not seem to have staff who are prepared to ACTUALLY answer direct questions. Seems like every time they are in the wrong, they prefer to evade issues. A far cry from the Discovery Health and Vitality of 10 years ago, when service excellence and honest communication was their hallmark.
