After going to the doctor i was given a prescription for medication, i went to jukskei park pharmacy to get it. the dispenser took my details and advised me that my medical aid was not active, it was a bit odd but with medical aids you never know what to expect so when i was told i needed to pay cash and i did as i needed the medication. 2 weeks later i got a statement from my medical aid stating that an amount of R548.00 is owed by me from a claim from no other than the same pharmacy, and it was the same amount that i paid cash. when i called my medical aid to query it they stated that they did put a claim in, when i explained the situation they advised me that its not the first time they have heard of this with pharmacies.
what really amazes me is that the medical aid will not even investigate situations like this, even though they could be getting by the pharmacies as well.
