Bad Service and Just no Response

My Samsung Plasma TV stopped working on 14/12/2013. The TV was bought from Hi Fi Corp. on 27/04/2012. When reported it to Samsung on 17/12 they confirmed that TV was under warranty. They booked it in at one of their service centres which came to collect it. The service centre informed me on 20/12 that the unit was out of warranty and repair cost was >R 6000.00. When contacted Samsung they informed me that the 2 year warranty which they advertise all over only came into effect on 1 /05/2012. After speaking to Siyabonga and Karabo which promised that they will investigate and come back to me I have heard nothing from them.
I can not accept that I as a customer can be ignored like that. I also can not accept that a R 10 000 TV can only last 18 months. I also can not accept that I was not properley advised from the beginning about the warranty.
