Samsung Warranties incorrectly given

I bought a Samsung 40 inch full HD LED TV on the 19/11/2011. The TV does not get used much but of late on the top of the screen a black bar appears. So i took it in yesterday to the Samsung service centre (By 14 avenue JHB) to see what was wrong and get it repaired under warranty. I get a phonecall this morning to say my TV is out of warranty and will cost R2000 to fix. Now i have a problem with this as i was told by a Samsung representative on the day i purchased my TV that there was a standard 2 year warranty on the TV. That was actually the deciding factor for me to purchase the TV. Now I'm sitting with a TV that is not 100% because i was mislead on the warranty period. I have a lot of Samsung electronics in my home and now i am wondering if they are actually covered. What do i do with this TV??? Its useless as it is now. I want someone from Samsung SA to contact me to sort this issue out. I am highly dissapointed with this situation.
