I purchased a 42 inch flat screen TV from Makro in March 2012 and was told that there is a 2 year warranty. The TV is just over a year, and black lines appearing across the screen, no picture. I called the Samsung and told that there is only a one year warranty and that the two year warranty came into effect in May 2012. So my TV is supposedly out of the warranty by 6 weeks, although I was told by Makro sales person that there is a 2 year warranty. The TV was taken to Makro Montague Gardens on Thurs 7 Nov for repair. Siyabonga from Samsung phoned on Friday 8 Nov advising that they would attend to it immediately and if it could not be repaired they would replace. He was going to phone me back on Monday 11th, which did not occur. I phoned him on Tues 12 Nov and he said that the repair company was busy quoting them, but it was too expensive so they were waiting for another quote. I asked him about the replacement, and he said he would phone me back by Wed13 Nov. After not hearing from Samsung or Makro, I went to the Makro store on Friday 15 November, with no result. I phoned Tulani at Samsung Monday 18 and he said he would ensure Siyabonga phoned me. Still waiting! NO Call, NO TV!
