I bought the Samsung S4 a few months ago when it first came out. I had the phone for about 3 months until it started giving me problems. At first the phone kept giving me error messages. Due to the error the phone prevented me from phoning out. Samsung informed me that they have to redo the software of the phone and that I will lose all my data. I then had the software reinstalled. After the software was reinstalled the phone kept switching off the whole time even after I fully charged it. I took it to the store again and they said that the battery was swollen due to the phone being overcharged. As soon as the phone is 100% charged you have to unplug it. Which is ridiculous as you then have to set an alarm if you have to charge it through the night after you have been at work. I gave the phone in at the Samsung Care Centre at Constantia Kloof. After 2 weeks I had to phone them as I haven't heard anything about my phone yet. They informed me that the phone's main board has to be replaced.
So basically the software and hardware had to be fixed, basically the whole phone. Samsung is not returning my calls after I have asked them to replace the phone. And i am still without a phone as well!
