I have a Samsung S3 one of Samsung's flagship smart phones, but it turns out the phone is not as smart as Samsung make out. The phone can connect using WiFi at both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Their call centre doesn't know this. I got these irritating messages from Samsung saying that I must upgrade the software. I couldn't get rid of the messages so I eventually ran the upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.1.1. I would now like to be able to set the WiFi frequency but the setting for this has disappeared with the software upgrade. Samsung tell me that I must take my phone to Montague Gardens to have a technician fix the software. Montague Gardens is 50 km away from where I live. Why does Samsung release software that doesn't work? I don't think it is reasonable to expect me to travel 100km during office hours to go and have my phone "fixed". I am sure that they will not be able to do it while I wait so I will probably have to travel back there a second time at my own expense. I suppose I should have bought an I-phone instead.
