Bought new generator on 30/08/2012 motor broke down on 26/08/2013 no compression mailed Ellies on same day T T TARR rang back and informed me that to get almost 1000hrs out of this unit was good, normally 400hrs. Also this unit should only be used as a standby unit. Standby to what??? Bought a new unit and expect service from it. One does not buy a motor vehicle as a standby??? Was told it was not worth repair as motor costs more than unit. No documentation told me I was buying a standby unit also still in warranty.
Ellies are not prepared to honour unit, Warranty etc. I will never purchase an Ellies prodcut again.
I would like to know what can be done and weather the Consumer Protection Act could help me in this regard?
