No clue what they are doing

In the middle of March I went to one of your MultiChoice agents in Knysna, namely Knysna Electronics, and asked them if I should disconnect my account with DSTV. There exact words to me was "it is not necessary as I am on a CASH basis, and if I do not pay it will automatically disconnect, and I will pay a R50 reconnection fee if I want it activated again". After this I was under the impression that I am packing away my DSTV and will only reconnect it once I am back in my hometown. When I moved up to Johannesburg, I was informed that my account is heading into arrears. The i spoke directly to the DSTV call centre where they informed me that my account should have been closed by the agency. Now I am sitting with a R1742 account and have not even used my DSTV for 4 months. Please do not let these people help you with any information speak directly to DSTV themselves.
