Absolutely fed up!

I purchased a Corioliss C2 Hair Iron in September 2011. It stopped getting heated up around April 2012 and at the time I was in Johannesburg so I took it to the nearest Carlton Hair Salon only to hear that I did not purchase it from them so they would not be able to help me...
I had to wait until September 2012 to come back to Durban in order to return it to the person I purchased it from which I did. The iron was replaced with one of very poor quality with the top layer peeling and instead on the leopard print I got a plain black with not even the same box I had originally.
And now I sit again with a broken hair iron and the person I purchased it from has since told me I cannot repair it instead I need to invest in a new one as if I have R2000 lying around as spare change. It's absolutely frustrating to think that we spend so much on these items and when something goes wrong there is nobody to help. Not even 2 years old and its sitting collecting dust in my cupboard.
I feel as though I made the biggest mistake buying the Corioliss at least with the other brands, yet cheaper, have the necessary repair centers
