Quoted on Galaxt Tablet that only needed a reset

My Samsung Galaxy Tablet is out of warranty. It was stuck on the screen that says "Samsung" and would not go any further so I took it into the Samsung Service Centre in Constantia Park Roodepoort. They quoted me R3124 to "replace faulty components". I didnt accept the quote because I could not afford to have it repaired at the time, for that price.
I took the tablet to China Mall and the man said it would be unethical for him to repair and charge me for something I can easily fix myself. He told me to go to YouTube and search how to do a factory reset, which I did. And needless to say, my tablet is now working perfectly.
How can a brand like Samsung be so unethical in their treatment of loyal customers! I am shockling dissapointed in how decietful the Service Centre was. How many other unknowing members of the public have been ripped off.
The worst part is that they almost got away with it, if I had the cash at the time I would have gone ahead with the repair. They would have taken my money and just done a reset.
