I received a letter randomly via post notifying me that I have been handed over to debt collectors because I owe Unisa school fees. I was unaware that I owed school fees as I did not re-register after I write my exams. This was way back in 2008/9 it was so long ago I don't even remember. I have tried to call Unisa a few times with no luck as they never answer the phone or I get transferred to random departments that can't help me.
If I do owe school fees I have no problem with paying I just need to know what was outstanding and why I have been handed over to debt collectors but wasn't informed before. I can't even view this information online as I remember my username but not my password and I can't manage to reset it. This is absolutely frustrating as the debt collectors have requested the payment before end of the month. Now I can't find the letter I received so I can't even make the payment because I am not sure about the bank details or name of the company and Unisa is not willing to help.
All I want to know is how much I owe?
Which banking details to send the money to?
If I have owed all this time why have I not received any notification before being handed over?
