I had a credit card with African Bank and lost my job and was out of employ for almost two years. I was requested by the financial providers to send the letter stating that I do not work and affidavit which I did. However I started working October '11 and gathered all my debts. I started paying them in 2012 as they did not have my records debt was handed over. In July 12 I received an sms stating that I qualify for 50% discount if I settle the debt at end of Aug/12. I manage to contact the debt collectors and advise them that I will settle the balance outstanding if they could provide me with the banking details. I waited in vain for the banking details and unfortunately the number on the sms did not work any longer and eventually I was contacted by the collectors in Sept '12 wanting me to pay the instalments amount. I refuse and said I wanted to settle the debt the fact that they forgot to send me the details cannot be blamed on me. I contacted Vaneshrie Govender at AB and told me to follow up with Afcard the debt collectors and I did they told me that the file is closed as requested back by African Bank. I tried to follow up again with AB but got no response. I wish to resolve
