I own a Motolek battery purchased as per the engraved date 27/01/2012 (date of purchase). In March 2013 I started experiencing problems with the baterry and went to battery centre to have it tested. They informed me that the battery needs to be charged, which I did and the battery did not take the charge. I then called the tollfree number on the battery and they referred me to Battery Centre Vanderbijlpark. (the same centre) The battery has an 18 month gaurantee on and thus I am in the guarantee cover period. At Battery Centre Vanderbijlpark I was attended to by a very unhelpful elderly lady who advised me that the guarantee has expired as they do not cover the battery from point of sale but from manufacture date. I do not understand why I have to be inconvenienced for the lack of sales and the shelve period the battery had prior to sale, I bought the battery with the 18 month gaurantee and thus insist that Battery Centre or First National Battery own up on their gaurantee. This is breach of contract!
