First National Battery
Guarantee on baterry not honoured

I purchased a Motorlek battery 27/01/2012 as per retailer engraved date. In March 2013 (month 14) I started experiencing problems with the battery and went to Battery Centre Vanderbijlpark. I was "assisted"by and elderly unhelpful lady who's assistant advised me that the battery needs to be charged. I did this and had no sucess, I returned and was informed that the battery was dead but that the guarantee has expired as they do not guarantee the battery from date of sale but from date of manufacture. As per all other guarantees the guarantee starts at the date of purchase and does not include the shelve life and the slow sales turnaround of a retailer. Why must I now be inconvienced? Why did Battery Centre not advise at time of sale that the battery was close to its rotational period end date? The Call Centre Number on the battery is for First National Batteries and they informed me to take the battery to this battery centre branch. I would prefer not to do business with them, but they are the distributors of the battery and should honor their guarantee!!
