I booked a car for collection on 01 Feb 2013 at 16:00 at Lanseria and eventually arrived after 18:00 only to find the car I had booked was not available and there were no other 7 seaters available. After waiting for more than an hour I was given a 10 seater Toyota Quantum, which ended up costing me a lot in fuel. I returned the car on Sunday 03 Feb.
I was socked to find that I was charged for an extra day (R680.22) because the car was returned late. This after I got the car at least 3 hours later than the time I booked it for. Had I been told I would be charged I would have kept the car and used it for the extra day. I want my money back.
This morning (01 March 2013) my bank confirmed Dollar Thrifty is still holding the following deposits :
14 December 2012 R1500
21 January 2013 R2000
28 January 2013 R1500
01 February 2013 R3000
I have hired more than 20 cars from Dollar Thrifty in the past year and I always have to call and request that my deposit be released. It is unacceptable for my deposit to be held for more than 2 months.
Please refund my R680.22 and release my deposits.
