Speed Services provide a guaranteed door-to-door delivery service. I sent a parcel with said service (R152) from Paarl to Dundee on Monday (23/12) and was assured the parcel would arrive the next day. When it did not arrive in Dundee the next day I phoned to inquire as to the problem. They told me that they were not working over the Christmas period and that the parcel would remain in Johannesburg, only to arrive on Friday (27/12).
Calling the Speed Services call center I spoke to a supervisor who told me they did not work as of Tuesday (24/12) 13:00. In other words, they accepted a parcel for guaranteed next day delivery, failed to inform me that it would not be possible and still billed me for the service. What is more, when it arrived in Dundee on Friday I was not informed that the parcel had arrived. It was furthermore not delivered to the address that was specified as they failed to see their sticker on the package which said door-to-door delivery.
The supervisor assured me on 24/12 that she would call me back shortly to further assist with my query. I am yet to receive a phonecall.
