My insurance mutual and federal arranged a courtesy car from Europcar Randburg Branch. I collected the car after paying a petrol deposit of R750. Upon return of the car on a Sunday afternoon there was no one on site except a security guard. I filled the petrol upon return to full tank. There was no communication from them until I queried 3 days later to refund my Petrol deposit. It was at that point that it was alleged the tank was not full as a result I will not get my full deposit. After 3 days, how do i know what was happening with the car between Sunday and the other days that lapsed. What guarantee do I have that they also gave me full tank when I took the car. I think this practise is not fair to customers and raises a whole lot of suspicion.
When i called the manager was arrogant saying its my word against his, and they have full proof that the car tank was not full. I am certainly not going near Europcar anytime. I don't trust them and their attitude. Despite all the mails I wrote querying this, I was told my query has been sent to complaints department till today no one responded. The incident happened on the 18th July 2013.
