New vehicle has been purchased on 08 Jun 2013 form Jaguar land Rover Hillcrest (Durban area).
After the replacement of surface rusted exhaust pipes has been noticed that the other parts under the car are corroded; CV joint drive shafts and flanges at Gear box and differential and other washers.
Matter has been brought to the attention of "Jaguar Land Rover" SA and the branch in Hillcrest, but I was informed that is nothing unusual as it is only "cosmetic rust" and will not affect the parts. The parts will not be replaced. Report available.
Could you please explain the technical term "COSMETIC RUST" on a new vehicle. Odometer reading was 20km when I did purchase the vehicle.
