Vehicle had a problem in November, 2008. Front differential was replaced under warranty.
The diff fitted was the incorrect part, this vehicle is a manual, the part fitted was for an Automatic. The incorrect part was approved by Landrover South Africa, under the normal warranty. This part has different gear ratios to the Manual.
This error has only come to light now because the vehicle was never used off road. After the first off road use, the vehicle had a significant vibration, which is the result of the wrong gear ratios between the two diffs.
Land Rover SA is adament it is not their problem, because the part lasted more than one year, which is their warranty period on replacement parts!
The problem has occured due to the wrong part being installed in the vehicle, which should have been picked up by both the service dealer AND Land Rover SA, as it was a warranty claim.
