It seems the dealership sells poor quality replacement parts and knows about it as their replacement 'genuine' vehicle batteries carry only a 12 month guarantee. After a year and 8 months since having my battery replaced it has now ceased its functioning and upon enquiry I have learnt that its losing its charge rather quickly, alternator and everything else checked out fine btw so fault is definitely with battery. Upon enquiry I learned that the dealerships batteries which should have a minimum lifespan of 5 years are only guaranteed for 12 months from date of purchase which leads me to wonder why exactly at twice the cost of a locally manufactured battery with the same 12 month guarantee people are still purchasing these inferior quality batteries. I suggest people stop purchasing these overpriced inferior quality items as the cheaper locally manufactured units seem to outlast them by a mile. dealerships response to my query... 12 month guarantee, your options-replace with new.
