Mr Bekker purchased a new Range Rover Sport HSE in September 2011. On leaving the showroom with his new vehicle, he experienced a shudder on the wheels. He was requested to return the vehicle. The Dealer claimed that the balancing was at fault which they allegedly fixed. The shudder did not abate and following many interventions whereby the steering and several other components had been replaced, Mr Bekker requested Jaguar Landrover SA (JLSA) to assist with his dilemma as he has never had the privilege of driving a new Range Rover without a shudder. JLSA however remain adamant that they are only required to repair any shortcoming on the vehicle and after more than a year of attempting to fix the vehicle has an oil leak which was caused by two differentials being replaced erroneously (admission by JLSA).
Mr Bekker now insists on having his vehicle replaced as he has had this problem from exiting the showroom. All attempts over the past 19 months to repair his vehicle has failed and only resulted in his vehicle being further compromised with the resultant oil leaks. This is not a full record on all the failings of this vehicle or the poor service received from JLSA.
