2009 mercedes purchased from new had a steering mechanism problem on 65000 kms. emailed Germany to get some answers in South Africa. Was promised to be looked into after getting a mechanical report on it. Never did happen. My gripe is the part to be of an inferior quality in a branded car and to give up at that low mileage? U think u are buying the best only to fork out. Maybe a ploy to make money to make parts last up to 60 000kms bcos after that you have to start paying towards your repairs. I also heard of another mercedes giving the same problem. i thought i was alone until i heard about the other person. Delayed tactics from branded companies will make the consumer fed up and not follow it up but it may just change our minds about the so-called inferior korean / chinese / indian made vehicles. This happened many months ago.
